IEEE USA E-Book Fifth in Series Showcasing Women Engineers

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) USA has released a new e-book featuring the story of Judith Resnick, a female engineer and member of the Space Shuttle Challenger crew. Marking the fifth in IEEE USA’s “Famous Women Engineers in History” e-book series, the story is about a woman who “didn’t want to be seen as a woman astronaut or a Jewish astronaut — just as an astronaut.” Resnick and her crew perished in the 1986 Challenger explosion. A nonprofit that serves the public good and promotes the interests of approximately 150,000 engineering, computing and technology professionals in the U.S., IEEE is publishing the series in an effort to “bridge the divide (of women in engineering) by amplifying female engineers’ voices and telling stories highlighting their impact in the engineering profession.”
