In Memoriam: Anthony Guglielmo
Liberty Elevator Corp. Chief Project Estimator Anthony “Tony” Guglielmo, a mentor to fellow team members and a trusted advisor to the company, which has offices in NYC, New Jersey and Florida, passed away unexpectedly on October 7 at age 77. An elevator industry veteran of more than 50 years, Guglielmo helped form Liberty in 1987, where he served as vice president and later, president, until his semi-retirement. He came out of retirement in 2011 to oversee Liberty’s life and fire safety renovations at the Statue of Liberty, which reopened the crown to visitors and provided disabled access. The renovation was an ELEVATOR WORLD Project of the Year in 2014. Guglielmo spent the remainder of his career at Liberty as chief project estimator. His competitive spirit and outstanding work ethic inspired young and seasoned professionals alike, and he was greatly respected for his expertise, dedication and passion. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lorraine; children, Karen and Christopher; and five grandchildren. — courtesy of Liberty Elevator
