Indiana Library Set To Get Elevator Repairs
The elevator at the Madison branch of the Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) in Indiana will soon be getting needed repairs, the Madison Courier reports. The Jefferson County Council recently approved using US$150,000 from the library’s rainy-day fund to finance repairs to the elevator, which was installed in 1966. Five bids were sought for the elevator upgrade, and Executive Elevator of Louisville submitted an offer. With County Council approval, final steps must be taken with the Department of Local Government Finance, and then the project will be scheduled with Executive Elevator. Library patrons won’t notice much beyond a new control panel, as the upgrades are mostly on the “workings of the elevator, and the electronic panel inside,” officials said.
