KONE has been selected to equip the new high-end commercial tower One Leadenhall next to the historic Leadenhall Market in London with a vertical-transportation (VT) system that includes 25 elevators and two escalators, KONE announced on June 2. The order includes 19 MiniSpaceTM, four MonoSpace® and two JumpLiftTM elevators and two TravelMasterTM escalators. Fifteen passenger elevators will be equipped with the KONE Office Flow solution and E-LinkTM monitoring service, as well as the Destination Control system. Slated for completion in 2024, the 35-story tower will provide panoramic views at every level and a free public terrace. It will accommodate approximately 4,500 people. KONE Executive Vice President Central and North Europe Axel Berkling said the company is proud to deliver its solutions to a project that “combines modern design and heritage architecture and will impressively re-establish the area.” The developer is Brookfield Properties, the construction manager is Multiplex and leading architects are MAKE and Adamsons.
