Beijing metro line 11 west section

KONE has won an order to supply 83 vertical-transportation (VT) units for the western section of Beijing’s new Metro Line 11, the company announced on September 16. Line 11, a 4.2-km-long section also known as “Winter Olympic Branch Line,” will connect five major areas of the Shougang North District through four stations and provide transfer to two other major metro lines. It will serve the area during China’s 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games and facilitate commuter traffic of future events. KONE will deliver 70 of its TransitMaster™ escalators, 12 MonoSpace® elevators and one KONE TranSys™ freight elevator. The contract includes two years of standard maintenance. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
