As part of the larger Amrit Bharat Station Scheme that aims to redevelop more than 500 railway stations in 27 Indian states, the Hatia station will be five stories and serviced by 16 pieces of vertical-transportation (VT) equipment: 10 lifts and six escalators, Outlook India reports. Hatia is a suburb of Ranchi, capital city of the state of Jharkhand in eastern India. A total of 20 stations in Jharkhand are set to be redeveloped, including ones at Piska and Hatia, at a cost of approximately US$3.2 million and US$42.8 million, respectively. The Hatia station will also be a “green” structure with a water-recycling system. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the Hatia station foundation stone virtually, with Jharkhand Gov. C.P. Radhakrishnan on hand in person.
