Newark Officials OK Three-Tower High-Rise Development

Periphery terrace at The Halo – INOA Architecture

Members of the Newark Central Planning Board have approved proposals to build The Halo, a three-tower residential development at 289-301 Washington Street, New York YIMBY reported on March 25. The 44-, 48- and 52-story towers step up to a height of 565 ft and will be the tallest structures in Newark. Designed by Manhattan-based studio INOA Architecture, The Halo’s footprint will exceed 900,000 ft2 and offer 949 rental units, six stories of parking in the lower-level podium and amenities. Renderings show rooftop pools, outdoor lounge areas, and periphery terraces that appear to slice through the building’s glass façade. Developer Acier Holdings says the first phase of construction should break ground this fall and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
