North Dakota Courthouse Needs Elevator Replacement

North Dakota’s Ward County Commission is looking at cost of approximately US$400,000 to replace a courthouse elevator that is becoming less reliable, as it is somewhere between 57 and 61 years old, the Minot Daily News reports. Officials do not know how much longer the unit will last or whether it meets Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. The county has a contract with a firm that provides repairs on the county’s six elevators, located in three buildings. Officials plan to look into grants, including investigating a state Court Facilities Improvement Program grant, to help fund the repair.
