Otis has shared how one of its service supervisors at the Otis China Ltd. Shanghai branch is using digital tools to promote safety and efficiency. “Fei” leads a team of more than 10 members serving the Shanghai Metro’s Oriental Sports Center station. In the article, Otis recognizes the dedication of Fei and two of his colleagues who were stationed at the Metro station for several months during the COVID-19 lockdown. Last year, Fei and his team were able to fix the breakdown of four escalators caused by flooding within three hours. Using Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the team quickly diagnosed the issue without risking anyone’s safety. The rapid response won customer trust, which translated into a new maintenance contract for Otis. Fei has witnessed the progression of urbanization in Shanghai throughout his time with the company, and he works with customers to help them feel comfortable with digital tools like Otis ONE.
