Otis announced it has extended its decades-long support of Shenzhen Metro with a new contract to service 209 Otis units, including 66 elevators and 143 escalators, on the network’s Line 1. With the addition of Line 1, Otis currently services seven metro lines in Shenzhen: lines 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 11. The service portfolio now totals nearly 1,000 units, including more than 200 elevators and more than 700 escalators and moving walks. As the first metro line in Shenzhen, a pivotal manufacturing and commercial hub in south China, Line 1 has 30 stations connecting downtown areas in the city. Otis is further supporting Shenzhen Metro in the ongoing construction of Line 13, which will be served by more than 350 Otis elevators and escalators, all connected with the Otis ONE® Internet of Things (IoT)-based digital platform.
