Continuing a more than 30-year tradition of giving back by partnering with the Special Olympics, Otis sponsored the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, Germany, on June 17-25. More than 60 Otis employees from Germany, France, Italy and Spain volunteered at the event, the largest inclusive sports competition of its kind in the world. One of Otis’ 13 Environmental, Social and Governance goals is to achieve 500,000 volunteer hours by 2030. More than 800 volunteer hours were dedicated to the Special Olympics World Games. Otis colleagues in other regions have volunteered with the Special Olympics, as well. In Tokyo, Manager Yojiro A. led a fundraising effort for the local Special Olympics, and, in Connecticut, Engineering Technical Fellow Brad G. helped stage the annual Connecticut Special Olympics Winter Games Alpine Event.
