A man riding an elevator at a hotel in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, was killed on January 16 when the elevator collapsed, Urdu Point reports. Several other passengers were hurt. Authorities said the injured riders were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Attendants, who were at the hotel to attend a wedding ceremony, angrily protested the accident, saying the hotel’s administration cut off electricity during a group delay, and that this caused the elevator to collapse. The protesters said the electricity shutdown was negligent.
