Public Schools in Guam Face ADA Difficulties
Multiple public schools in Guam with two-story buildings lack functioning elevators, which has forced administrators to move classes to the first floor to accommodate students with disabilities, The Guam Daily Post reports. Facility officials confirmed that seven schools have a total of 18 elevators, many of which are not operational, to the Guam Education Board (GEB) on July 29. Nick Cruz, the Guam Department of Education capital improvement project program coordinator, acknowledged the ongoing problems, saying some elevators need minor repairs while others require complete replacement.
