Schindler tells ELEVATOR WORLD it provided vertical-transportation (VT) equipment for Eurovea City, a mixed-use master-planned development on the Danube River in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava that includes Slovakia’s tallest building and a new city landmark: the 168-m, 46-story Eurovea Tower. Developer J&T Real Estate announced on November 7 the tower, which boasts nearly 400 residences, had received usage approval ahead of handover in spring 2024. Designed by GFI Architektúra + Dizajn, the tower is the last part of the expansion of the popular waterfront area, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat recently reported. The larger development also includes an expanded Eurovea shopping center, the Pribinova 34 and Pribinova 40 office buildings and large public spaces. Schindler VT equipment includes 47 elevators (41 5500, three 7000 and three 3000 units) with maximum travel speed of 6 m/s; 18 Schindler 9300 escalators; and the Schindler PORT traffic-management system in Eurovea Tower and an office building.
