SMEC President Visits Uzbekistan Elevator Plant

Wang Zhongpei, president of Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd. (SMEC), visited the elevator plant located at the TEXNOPARK industrial zone in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to get a first-hand look at the operations of the largest vertical-transportation manufacturer in Central Asia,UZ Daily reports. The plant has an annual production capacity of 4,000 units. During the meeting, discussions focused on the potential introduction of Shanghai Mitsubishi’s flagship product — LEHY-Pro elevators — to the Uzbek market, along with the integration of advanced “smart elevator” technologies. In May, TEXNOPARK and SMEC signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand cooperation in manufacturing and deploying advanced elevator technologies in Uzbekistan. Established in 1987, SMEC specializes in high-speed and innovative elevator systems, and its products are exported to more than 90 countries, with partnerships in more than 40 international markets.
