Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction in southern India is getting six lifts and six escalators, promising to ease traffic flow at a station that has seen traffic increase considerably in the wake of COVID-19 restrictions being lifted, The Hindu reports. Railway officials said the elevators will be installed at platforms 1, 2/3, 4/5 and 6/7. Connecting to a foot overbridge, the escalators will be provided at platforms 1, 2/3, 4/5 and 6/7.
