Texas Rangers’ Ballpark Features 37 VT Units From TK

Texas Rangers fans enjoying the April 2021 season home opener against the Toronto Blue Jays at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, were treated to ease of movement thanks to the 24 elevators and 13 escalators installed by TK Elevator at the new, US$1.2-billion ballpark, the company said on April 7. The 37 vertical-transportation (VT) units, which were turned over to the Texas Rangers in March 2020, are also equipped with MAX, the elevator industry’s first cloud- and IoT-based digital platform enabling enhanced service and predictive maintenance. With a retractable roof to ease summertime temperature issues, Globe Life Field is also one of only four Major League Baseball stadiums to utilize synthetic grass. The ballpark was designed by HKS, Inc. and built by Manhattan Construction Co.
