TK Elevator’s S200 stairlift has won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021, the company announced on April 14. After a five-year process conceived by Business Unit TK Home Solutions and designed by the internationally renowned Pearson Lloyd studio, the S200 comprises modern ergonomic design. The project was undertaken at TK Elevator’s Netherlands factory. Key to the S200 is its ergonomics, which are engaged through its patented Advanced Swivel Levelling in which the seat and footrest rotate together, ensuring the closest distance to the staircase. S200 also features automatic folding of the seat and footrest, which allows it to be stored using minimal space on the staircase. It is positioned at a convenient height and, when in motion, the seat and footrest stay aligned, keeping the back and knees from twisting and thus giving the user maximum comfort. The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s largest international design competitions. More than 18,000 submissions from 70 countries were part of the 2021 event.
