On October 6, Düsseldorf, Germany-headquartered TK Elevator (TKE) announced it has launched EOX to customers in Europe. EOX is an elevator platform with a digital core that delivers improved energy efficiency and enhanced user experiences. The platform is produced with 100% green electricity and requires up to 28% less energy to operate thanks to regenerative drive technology, a new eco-mode and weight-optimized design. EOX is powered by cloud infrastructure from Microsoft and high-performance accelerated computing from NVIDIA, and “transforms the everyday elevator into a digital device as easily as updated as a smartphone.” Passengers may connect to EOX via their mobile device to call an elevator or access content on multimedia screens in the cabin. TKE Europe and Africa CEO Inge Delobelle says EOC “delivers the rich promise of sustainability and digitalization to the most essential elevators. . .and stands to make a big contribution to residential buildings that constitute the large majority of urban structures.”
