Turkey VT Sector Lauds Elevator Safety Sector
The Elevator Safety Equipment Test and Development Center implemented in 2019 by the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) in Bursa, Turkey, represents an important demand of the sector — elevator safety components, say sector members who, according to RAILLY NEWS, recently visited the facility. Vertical-transportation (VT) experts say the components are tested reliably and reduce the country’s need for imports while providing much-needed testing and inspection services and supporting remaining equity in Turkey. The center continues to serve sector representatives within the body of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, which provides thousands of vocational certifications across Turkey. For VT, this ensures that the test and inspection services of the elevator industry are carried out. Serdar Aksöz, general manager of VT provider ASPAR, observes the center helps exports. “I thank everyone who contributed,” he said. “VT is a very important issue. I see a good service come to life. As a company, we feel an additional reliability when another institution approves our own quality.” The center includes the first laboratory where elevator safety components, such as brake systems, speed regulators and more, are tested and accredited.
