TÜV SÜD recently welcomed more than 100 customers and colleagues from around the world for the grand opening of its new £2.88-million (US$3.28-million) state-of-the-art U.K. EMC (electromagnetic compatibility testing) and Radio Frequency test facility at the company’s Hampshire, U.K., headquarters. Prof. Dr. Axel Stepken, chairman of the Board, TÜV SÜD AG, and Holger Lindner, CEO, TÜV SÜD Product Service, cut the ribbon and declared the building open followed by three keynote speeches and two educational presentations. Guests then toured the new facilities and watched demonstrations of the SPECTRUM platform and EmX Chamber automation. According to a press release, “This new facility will help manufacturers achieve a shorter time to market for products that integrate RF modules, including technologies such as Bluetooth, WiFi and the new 6E frequency bands. The new chambers will also offer testing to worldwide compliance specifications to support growing demand from manufacturers to access multiple global markets simultaneously. The new facility provides the space and the platform for further investments, which are expected to be in excess of £8 million (US$9.12 million) over the next few years.” The facility is phase one of TÜV SÜD’s new EMC and Radio Frequency testing facilities, and planning is already underway for phase two.
