Worked Killed in Elevator Shaft Fall at Pennsylvania Warehouse

A 71-year-old man was killed on May 14 when he fell into an elevator shaft in a former hardware and lumber storage warehouse in Erie, Pennsylvania, GoErie is among sources to report. The man had been a longtime employee at the new and used restaurant equipment business where the accident occurred. He fell from the second floor to the basement when he stepped into the elevator shaft without realizing the car was not present. Officials say the man died upon impact, and investigators are looking into how the accident happened.
