The Pearl Group of Hotels has unveiled its newest project, the Pearl Grand Tower Hotel. It will be in the center of Colombo, Sri Lanka’s commercial district and surrounded by many other luxury developments. The group also engaged with Aitken Spence Elevators, the exclusive distributor for Otis elevators in Sri Lanka, to install and maintain 10 Otis high-speed elevators, which will serve up to 42 floors at up to 3.5 mps.
Included are Otis SkyRise™ high-rise, high-speed gearless traction elevators that conserve energy, and the company’s CompassPlus™ destination-management system, which uses interactive keypads and destination input. The system acts like a virtual concierge and gets passengers to their destinations with less waiting and fewer stops than conventional dispatching systems.
