Fall From Escalator In Russia Leads To Serious Injuries

A 17-year-old girl fell from an escalator in a shopping center on Prospekt Mira in Moscow Russia, injuring her face and head and damaging her liver and spleen, MK reported on November 27. While riding the escalator from the first floor to the ground floor, the girl attempted to sit on the handrail, losing her balance and falling to the stone floor from approximately 1.5 m. She remained conscious and was taken to a hospital where she was diagnosed with ruptured kidneys and spleen and a concussion with cerebral edema. The source reports that she is in intensive care and her condition is listed as serious.
