ECS Corp., headquartered in Broadview, Illinois, has announced the opening of its Western Region distribution facility in Las Vegas and participation in a Chicago-area manufacturing-industry podcast. ECS opened its 7,100-sq.-ft. customer-support facility, which includes a will-call center and is stocked with elevator and escalator replacement parts, near the Las Vegas Strip in early February. The company observed the facility promises to better serve customers in the Mountain and Pacific time zones, who will benefit from lower freight charges, shorter delivery times and extended shipping hours. John Rankin, a QEI with more than 33 years’ industry experience including fieldwork, construction, modernization, service and repair, was named manager. Most recently, he was service and repair operations manager for the local thyssenkrupp branch. Lori Kekich was named Sales and Operations coordinator. She has a diverse background that includes work in the steel and healthcare industries, and held positions with thyssenkrupp including state code administrator.
ECS President and Chief Operating Officer Rick Milefchik said the company saw an immediate need for better service in the Las Vegas area, where equipment “operates 24/7 in a harsh environment, and response time is critical.” The new location is at 4301 South Valley View Boulevard, Suite 8, Las Vegas, Nevada 89103 and can be reached toll free: (800) 621-0759.
Back at home, Milefchik and Marketing Manager Cathy Hayat were recently featured on the Technology and Manufacturing Association’s (TMA) podcast, on which they discussed rebuilding and restructuring following a change in ownership in 2013. Milefchik and Hayat spoke about ECS’ specialty, robotic laser welding, and manufacturing automation with hosts Kent Gladish of TMA and Tony Demakis of Alliance Specialties and Laser Sales. Milefchik said he was proud to share ECS’s story of overcoming adversity with Alliance and TMA, which supports manufacturing in the Chicago metropolitan area and surrounding counties in Illinois and Wisconsin.
