KONE’s Built-in Connectivity Technology

Based on the philosophy that aims at maintaining the perfect flow of people in cities, KONE improves elevator journeys with its DX-class (Digital Experience) elevators offering IoT cloud services.

KONE’s DX-class elevators include built-in connectivity and application programming interfaces, or, in short, they have APIs that allow machines and applications to communicate with each other. These APIs allow transmission of commands to the elevator through various devices, while the elevator can also communicate with the devices remotely.  This technology enables the integration of DX-class elevators with larger building ecosystems and all other products supported with APIs. Making such integrations with the products offered by KONE — with the special applications of the buildings or with the services developed by third parties — is also possible.

For example, with an Elevator Call API, users can call the elevator and direct it in a contactless way via a mobile application installed on their phones. With the Service Robot API, autonomous robots (cleaning robots, delivery robots, safety robots, etc.) can communicate with elevators. Equipment Status APIs allow building owners to easily integrate equipment status information into their building management systems and dashboards.  Ongoing and completed service orders, calls, repairs, etc., can be included in building-management systems with the Service Information API. KONE Info Screens keep everyone up-to-date and safe with real-time exchange of information. KONE’s 24/7 Connected System, thanks to its advanced artificial intelligence (AI), analyzes the critical parameters of the equipment and supports the prevention of possible failures while analyzing maintenance needs and providing a special maintenance plan for each piece of equipment.

Built-in Connectivity Technology in New DX-Class Elevators

KONE also uses its completely renewed and inspiring cabin designs available with its DX-Class elevators.  Smart surface materials that are antimicrobial and resistant to stains, abrasion and scratches also make fingerprints less visible. All aside,  the most important thing that matters for KONE is the elevator experience you will have. It is limited with your imagination.  Therefore, KONE’s DX-Class Elevators have a Built-in Connectivity feature.

About its Built-in Connectivity technology, KONE’s Turkey Sales Director Mustafa Bülbül says: “We can say that buildings are ready for anything tomorrow will bring, thanks to KONE’s DX-Class  Elevators’ innovative solutions, which make life easier, richer and smarter. These DX-class elevators can be upgraded to different usage areas with digital integration and new ‘’connected services,’’ and hardware that may be needed in the future can be added.  Being improved eventually, connectivity paves the way for smart and personalized services that can meet the future needs of buildings, and also increases the value of buildings.”
