New and renewed offerings for a variety of applications
Wireless Controller
The Peelle Co. has reintroduced its Wireless Freight Door Controller, incorporating software changes. Its control system provides constant wireless communication among all landing and car doors on a line, resulting in a more reliable operation. Code-required power and safety circuits are hard wired. Wiring time has been reduced by up to 50%. The controller also provides closed-loop feedback and true door positioning, eliminating the need for limit switches and sensors. The variable voltage/variable frequency drive, utilizing the latest inverter technology and motor protection, is self-learning and self-adjusting, lending itself to a smooth open-and-close sequence and resulting in quieter installation. It is machine-room-less, uses less energy than traditional start/stop models and requires fewer installation materials. An LCD display provides onboard diagnostics of all control-system equipment. It comes ready to use and is standard on all quotations. The controller is the same price as a traditional programmable logic controller with up to four stops, and provides all door and gate functions operating in slave mode.
LCD Display for Elevators
Avire has launched a new LCD display, the E-Motive iS2. It combines RSS-feed technology, wireless connectivity and ecologically friendly features. The full-color TFT display is available in five sizes, ranging from 10.4-21.5 in. Its high processing capability allows it to handle high-definition video content and images. The product also offers wireless access to content updates, as well as monitoring, diagnostic and elevator-car surveillance functions. Dimming, LED backlit technology and a scheduler for screen power management all reduce its power consumption, improving lifespan and satisfying “green” ratings.
Shutoff Ball Valve
Maxton Manufacturing Co. has released a hydraulic elevator shutoff ball valve for use by the elevator industry. The company says it learned through customer interaction, product evaluation and research that shutoff valves currently used in elevator systems may not readily be shown to comply with ASME A17.1/CSA B44 labeling or testing requirements. This product, meant for elevator systems, has been designed and proven to comply with those standards. It is provided with a variety of connections and is labeled to meet code standards.
Elevator Analysis and Monitoring Tester
Elevator Analytics™ is a new elevator analysis and monitoring tool by Qameleon. Building upon the company’s existing technology, the product looks for meaningful patterns in an elevator’s operation and is promoted as workable with any elevator, regardless of age. The EA7 Elevator Analyzer was designed with input from inspectors, consultants and mechanics. Working with your laptop, it provides real-time information about an elevator’s operation, creates a permanent record of every trip and automatically generates reports. It can be set up in minutes inside the car and does not interfere with the elevator’s operation. Uses include inspection, troubleshooting, load testing, pre-modernization evaluation and traffic-analysis enhancement.
