First Place Winners in each category can choose one of the following prizes:

  • A customized, high-resolution pdf of your winning photograph on the cover of the August issue of ELEVATOR WORLD, suitable for framing.

All First, Second & Third Place Finalists Receive:

  • Free six-month, all-inclusive access to Elevator World. You will have access to the all editions of ELEVATOR WORLD and our archives section.

Rules:

  • Photographs must be in high-resolution digital .jpg format of at least 300 dpi. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this contest.
  • Photographs must be 2 MB or less and 3,000 x 3,000 pixels or less.
  • For photographs to be accepted, you must complete the entry form. Complete a separate form for each photo submitted. All photographs will be credited with the submitter's or photographer's name.
  • All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) are also acceptable.
  • By entering photos, you grant Elevator World, Inc. an exclusive right to use them in any current or future marketing, media or online platforms. The photographer will be credited on the photo and attempts will be made to notify them of a photo’s use. The entrant retains copyright of any photographs that were entered by themselves.
  • The photographer(s) must be the author(s) of the photographs submitted in their name.
  • Photographs can be submitted whether or not they have been formerly published. However, previously submitted photos in this contest are not eligible for the 2024 contest.
  • All entries must have accurate captions or descriptions about the photo, written in English. In the later rounds of judging, entrants may be required to provide additional information about their photographs.
  • Elevator World reserves the right to accept or reject any submissions for not complying with the contest rules.

  • Elevators/Lifts (Commercial) | From commercial buildings, athletic facilities to transit stations.
  • Elevators/Lifts (Private Residence) | Any type of elevator/lift at a private residence, including pneumatic, modular, stair or inclined lift.
  • Escalators & Moving Walks | From commercial buildings, athletic facilities, airports to transit stations.
  • Machines & Components
  • City Skylines & Tall Buildings | Show off your city or travels with photos of beautiful city skylines, iconic buildings or machine-room views.
  • Historical/Legacy Equipment (pre-1965) | Keep our industry's history in photos!
  • Hoistways | Show off the unique artistry of the hoistway.
  • Elevator Company Factories & Facilities | Show off where the magic happens by entering in this new category.
