AI Communication Award 2026 Honors Pioneering Projects in Germany

Presented during Social Media Days in Germany and hosted by Ziehl-Abegg, the AI Communication Award 2026 honored five pioneering AI projects at a ceremony in the historic medieval city of Schwäbisch Hall on July 1. A distinguished panel selected winning projects from 29 entries submitted by companies, universities and public organizations. Demonstrating how AI is transforming communication, business and society, the winners were “Michael Bommer Makes Himself Immortal” by Eternos.Life, which created a digital twin of a man living with terminal cancer; “Deepfake with Depth — How the EY AI Boy Turned the Cyber Lab into an International Success Story” by EY Austria, which used humor and deepfake technology to engage more than 1,300 employees; Claimspilot, an AI-powered insurance claims system; and MetaCompass Assistant Factory by Thomas Friese, which enables European organizations to develop and operate advanced AI systems while retaining full control of their data. In addition, Johannes Storlein of Julius Maximilion University of Würtzurg, received the Young Talent Award for his regulation-compliant AI solution that supports interview documentation for family law assessments.
