Alimak Custom Goods Elevators for Royal Swedish Opera

Alimak Group tells ELEVATOR WORLD it engineered, manufactured and installed two purpose-built goods elevators for the Royal Swedish Opera’s new facility in Flemingsberg, Stockholm, Sweden. The contract was awarded by developer Fabege AB and construction company MVB. Including a 34-m elevator shaft, the 12,000-m2 structure serves as a décor workshop and rehearsal studio for the opera. An ALIMAK TM 2000 FC elevator is 17 m long and 1.2 m wide with 2000-kg capacity. It is complemented by a TM 6100 FC elevator that can transport forklifts and materials weighing up to 6,100 kg. That elevator 8.7 m long and 3.5 m wide. Both elevators have a lifting height of 17.5 m and are used to transport backdrops and other props between three different levels of the facility. Large, customized landing doors on each floor facilitate easy loading and unloading of materials.
