Arkel India Opens Advanced Lift Control Manufacturing Facility

Aligning with the Government of India’s “Make in India” vision, Arkel India recently opened a new manufacturing facility in Phase 1 at the GIDC Estate in Savli-Manjusar in the Vadodara district of Gujarat, India, which ELEVATOR WORLD India attended. The advanced, technology-driven manufacturing capability will focus on locally manufacturing high-quality lift electronic systems, thereby reducing import dependency. With this, Arkel is the only local “Made in India” electronics supplier that is meeting the new IS-17900. The new plant also marks Arkel India’s entry into manufacturing advanced lift electronic systems. The facility will manufacture automated printed circuit board assembly lines along with semi-automatic machine room (MR) control panel lines. It will also make integrated lift control systems with an MR, machine-room-less and slim panels. These solutions feature Internet of Things-enabled smart technologies, energy efficiency, durability and precision control. The facility will create direct and indirect jobs in India. The company will collaborate with ITIs, polytechnics and engineering institutes, providing apprenticeship and upskilling in electronics and automation. The new plant signifies global-local synergy and will help India position itself as a manufacturing and export hub for Asia-Pacific markets. Dignitaries from overseas present at the function included Andrea Veggian, CEO, Innovalift AB, and Metin Cenk Ceylan, CEO, Arkel Elektrik Elektronik A.Ş. Innovalift AB, Sweden, acquired Türkiye-based Arkel in January 2025.
