The Canadian Elevator Contractors Association (CECA) announces events for November. These include the CECA Western Region Meeting and Networking event on November 20 in Richmond, B.C., where attendees can “channel their inner athlete” through virtual sport simulators at the Richmond Olympic Experience, give back and enjoy networking over drinks and dinner. Following the success of last year, CECA Western Region will again do a toy drive for children at the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. The meeting at the Richmond Olympic Oval starts at 3:15 p.m. PST, followed by the Richmond Olympic Experience and a social with drinks and dinner. CECA has secured a room block at the Marriott Vancouver with limited availability, so those planning to attend should book now. Next is the CECA Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) Townhall and Central Region meetings, at 12:30 p.m. and approximately 3 p.m., respectively, at the Sandman Signature Mississauga Hotel in Mississauga, Ontario, with special guest Dean McClellan of the TSSA Elevating Devices Inspection Division. Members can register for one or both meetings, and a light meal will be served during the Western Region meeting, which will include a supplier presentation titled “Rasing the Golden Standards of Elevator Pit Waterproofing” by Tenera Services.
