Approximately six months after the contract was awarded, the Harrison County Courthouse in Clarksburg, West Virginia, now has one fully replaced and operational elevator with work to replace the second main elevator expected to begin soon and take less time, The Exponent Telegram reports. The contract to replace the elevators was awarded to Schindler Elevator Corp. in November and work began in early 2026. The first car was estimated to be completed by March but was delayed due to issues with the elevator shaft itself being misshapen. Even though the project ran into some hiccups, the cost of the project has stayed on track, officials said, as there have been no change orders to the work being done by Schindler.
