ECNY and NAESA To Host NYS Mechanic and QEI Course

Elevator Conference of New York (ECNY) and NAESA International are hosting New York State (NYS) Mechanic License Course and Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) License Certification (2025 Code Update Seminar) on November 20 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Villa Barone Manor, 737 Throgs Neck Expressway in the Bronx, NY. As required by the State of New York, all elevator licensees must complete an approved 8-h course. The course content includes 2020 Elevator Industry Field Employee Safety Handbook (.1 Continuing Education Units [CEUs]); ASME A17.1 – 2022 Code Update, Parts 1–3 (.4 CEUs); ASME A17.3 – 2023 Code Update (.1 CEUs); ASME A17.2 – 2023 Guide Update (1.5 CEUs); and introduction to the Inspection Handbook (.05 CEUs). A photo ID is required for all participants. QEI participants must attend the full 8 h; NYS mechanics may leave after 6 h but must complete a 2-h self-study course in their NAESA portal.
