The government of Greece is granting a seven-month extension to the mandatory registration of elevators in the Digital Registry, moving the deadline to June 30, 2026, BnB News reports. The decision aims to provide additional time for property owners, building managers and industry professionals to complete the required procedures. According to officials, the number of registrations has increased significantly in recent weeks, with more than 250,000 elevators now recorded. The registration process is described as “extremely simple,” requiring just 3–5 min and is completely free. The ministry also clarifies that submitting information to the digital system does not create any additional liabilities for citizens; rather, it serves as a tool to improve safety and the overall supervision of elevators nationwide. The new extension is expected to ease pressure on the system in the coming months, facilitating the full registration of all elevators and ensuring a smooth transition to the digital monitoring model.
