Hitachi Elevator to Focus on Smart Building in China

Hitachi Elevator (China) Co. Ltd. will focus on developing the smart building business in China by accelerating its efforts in digitalization, intelligence and green initiatives, according to a senior company executive, China Daily reports. Numerous new applications in the fields of technology and industrial reform have emerged in China, following a new round of development focusing on green, digital and intelligent solutions, according to Jia Yuhui, president of Hitachi Elevator (China) Co. Ltd. AI combined with elevator upgrading will be the company’s development focus in the future, and an ecosystem that integrates air conditioning, cameras, access control systems and service robots is currently under construction, aiming to provide comprehensive solutions for smart buildings, communities and cities. Based in Guangzhou, the company has been operating in China for 30 years, with installation of more than 1.5 million escalators and more than 800,000 elevators in China. The company has also provided comprehensive renovation and upgrading solutions for more than 8,200 projects in 142 cities in the Chinese market.
