India Apartment Building Fatality Reported

A security guard died after falling down the elevator shaft from the fourth floor of an apartment building in Tambaram, Tamil Nadu, India, on November 10, DT NEXT reports. The victim was visiting all the floors in the building and turning on the corridor lights. When he returned to the elevator, the door was open, but the elevator was not there, of which he was not aware as he and stepped into the shaft, according to reports. Police have registered a case and are investigating how the shaft door was open while the lift was not there.
