India's DMRC Organizes Half-Day Escalator Safety Workshop

India’s Delhi Metro Rail Corp. (DMRC) organized a half-day escalator safety workshop on April 13 that brought together industry representatives, officials and technical experts to discuss best practices and how to enhance public awareness, The Print is among outlets to report. The workshop marked the conclusion of a week-long lift and escalator safety awareness drive. Approximately 150 people participated in person, according to DMRC, while representatives of larger OEMs from Germany, China and Singapore joined virtually. The event featured seven technical presentations on various aspects of escalator safety and operations. Topics included codes and standards, innovations and virtual reality-based software developed for elevator rescue training. DMRC stated the event "provided a platform for metro organizations and industry stakeholders to exchange views and reinforce their focus on passenger safety."
