India's MMRC Announces New Lifts and Escalators for Growing Rail Line

Mumbai Metro Rail Corp. (MMRC) announced new lifts and escalators at seven locations across India’s Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, Mumbai Live reports. Hutatama Chowk now has lifts at three gates, Grant Road, a lift at one gate; Dharavi, both a lift and an escalator at one gate; Acharya Atre Chowk, a lift at one gate and an escalator at another; Science Center, a lift at one gate; Mumbai International Airport, an escalator at one gate; and Sahar Road, lifts at two gates. Rollout of the new vertical-transportation equipment along the growing 33.5-km rail line was announced in conjunction with enhanced telecommunications services, reflecting "going efforts to strengthen commuters' experience on the rapidly expanding Aqua Line network," the source observed.
