The National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP) and New Jersey’s Rowan University have embarked a new partnership that will create new academic pathways for members of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC), where members earn college credit for their apprenticeship training and advance toward a Rowan degree and certificate. NEIEP is responsible for managing curriculum design and administering training and evaluation programs for new hires entering the trade. Through this partnership, IUEC members who complete the apprenticeship program can earn up to 45 college credits toward Rowan online’s Bachelor of Arts in construction management or one of three Certificate of Undergraduate Study programs. Apprentices earn credits during their training, which reduces the time and cost required to complete a degree significantly. NEIEP serves as the training arm of the IUEC, which represents more than 31,000 members nationwide.
