Toronto-headquartered vertical-transportation consultancy KJA announced on August 1 the promotion of Martin Ouimet from director, eastern Canada, to chief operating officer (COO). With more than 17 years at KJA, Ouimet has extensive experience including inspections and audits, development and implementation of national elevator maintenance programs, as well as engineering and supervising hundreds of projects. In his new role, Ouimet will oversee all aspects of KJA’s consulting operations, including new construction and modernization project supervision, maintenance management program supervision, business development and client relations. Ouimet is a professional engineer in multiple provinces, an Elevating Device Mechanic with Ontario’s Technical Standards and Safety Authority and a NAESA International Qualified Elevator Inspector. His active involvement in codes and standards committees “further underscores his commitment to advancing industry standards and best practices,” KJA observed.
