San Francisco-Based VT Consultant and Expert Witness Honored

Robert P. Cotton, a San Francisco-based vertical-transportation (VT) consultant and expert litigation witness with more than 40 years’ experience, has been recognized by the International Association of Who’s Who as one of America’s most influential businessmen, citybuzz is among outlets to report. Cotton has conducted more than 1,000 VT inspections nationwide, and is particularly focused on VT safety and the importance of technological advancements and equipment renovation. His passion for safety and injury prevention stems in part from suffering severe burns during a modernization job at a San Francsico hotel in 1995 due to an electrical short in the machine room. Cotton’s expertise encompasses forensic analysis of electrical and mechanical failures, accident investigation and code-compliance issues. He has testified in more than 80 cases involving elevator and escalator accidents.
