Schindler to Celebrate 2nd Annual National Elevate Day

Schindler, with U.S. headquarters in Morristown, NJ, announces the second annual National Elevate Day will be on November 8. Officially recognized by the National Day Archives and also known as Elev-8 Day — a play on the date 11-8 — the holiday is meant to honor the equipment that moves us, the visionaries who inspire us and the workforce that keeps us moving safely, Schindler said. National Elevate Day also recognizes and encourages a growing interest in the skilled trades among young people. According to National Elevator Industry, Inc., elevators and escalators carry passengers more than 2.8 billion mi. each year in the U.S. — nearly 26 times the distance traveled by all rail and air traffic combined. With this year’s theme of “What Elevates You,” Schindler invites those in the industry to share stories, photos and memories using #NationalElevateDay or #WeElevate. Participants have a chance to win exclusive Schindler swag, including a commemorative board.
