Specialized Elevator, a portfolio company of Berkshire Partners, announced on May 7 it acquired Wyatt Elevator, strengthening its position as one of the largest independent, unionized elevator and escalator service providers in the U.S. and expanding its footprint in the Philadelphia market. Wyatt Elevator was founded in 2012 by Dan, Tom and Billy Killion and Bob Brumbach, building its business around maintenance, repair and modernization services for elevators. As part of the transaction, Dan and Tom Killion will step away from the business to pursue new opportunities, while Brumbach will remain in a leadership role overseeing Philadelphia operations. Following the transaction, Wyatt's Philadelphia operations will be integrated into Specialized, which operates locally under the TEC brand. Dan Killion credited Lift Business Advisors with assisting in the deal, which "prioritized cultural alignment and employee continuity."
