Andover, U.K.-headquartered Stannah recently announced its JOYA stairlift won a Red Dot Award for product design in the 2026 international competition. The award, Stannah observed, recognizes how accessibility products can be both highly functional and beautifully designed. JOYA boasts a compact profile and materials carefully considered to minimize visual impact. Key design features include a forward-facing folding mechanism; a sculpted, deep ergonomic seat with an inclined backrest; intuitive controls; subtle lighting; and gentle audio feedback. The rail and chair have been designed as a single, cohesive element, pairing a sleek, black rail with premium, sustainable textiles. Judged by an independent panel of international experts, Red Dot Awards recognize products for functionality, usability, responsibility and aesthetics. Launched in 2025, the JOYA stairlift has been introduced in European markets including the U.K., Germany, France, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland.
