The Elevator Database, created by elevator enthusiast Logan Ober of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 20 announced three major expansions: The Pennsylvania Elevator Database (Alpha), The Ohio Elevator Database and The City of Cleveland Elevator Database. Pennsylvania, Ober said, is now the first jurisdiction in the database to provide live, real-time data. It also includes detailed inspection records with complete historical inspection data, marking a major advancement in transparency for elevator records and accessibility. The City of Cleveland has become the first AHJ to be featured in the database. It is also the first time that full City of Cleveland elevator records have been digitized and made accessible in this format. The Pennsylvania database is currently in the alpha — initial testing — phase. Ober said, “you may experience slower load times, but improvements are already in progress as the system continues to scale and optimize.” Ober thanked his sponsors, including VDA; Specialized Elevator; Metro Elevator; MODPROS Elevator, Inc.; Vantage Elevator Solutions; and Gustav Wolf North America, for helping make the expansions possible.
