Taiwan Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd. (TMEC), a Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions Corp. (MEBS) company, recently delivered 153 vertical-transportation (VT) units — 40 elevators and 113 escalators — for the first phase of the New Taipei Metro Sanying Line set to open this summer, MEBS announced on June 3. The fully elevated 14.29-km line stretches from Dingpu Station in New Taipei City through the Sanxia District to the Yingge District, "significantly improving convenience for communities along its route," including around National Taipei University. The order includes nine panoramic and six through-type elevators. All escalators feature low-speed standby operation and an automatic speed-control function that switches between 30 m/min and 39 m/min. The elevators are equipped with earthquake emergency-return operation to facilitate rapid evacuation and passenger safety during earthquakes.
