West Virginia Courthouse Elevator Replacement Underway

Repair and replacement of the elevators in the Harrison County Courthouse in Clarksburg, West Virgina, is currently underway, The Exponent Telegram reports. Crews from Schindler Elevator Co. are working to replace one elevator, while also working to troubleshoot the issues that have caused the other elevator to be out of order intermittently. The project includes replacement of all the mechanical components of the elevators, from the buttons to the electrical system, but the elevator cars will stay. Replacing or resizing the cars would have created more work, according to officials. Replacing the electrical equipment of each elevator and returning it to service has been estimated to take 12-15 weeks per car.
