Schmersal Global Competence Center (GCC), a 100% subsidiary of Germany-headquartered Schmersal Group, announced on July 1 it expanded operations with a new facility in Pune, India. In tandem with the new campus, Schmersal debuted the Product Experience Center to showcase six new "Make in India" products, further expanding its portfolio of machine safety systems and solutions. The expansion promises to "further strengthen Schmersal GCC's position as a high-impact hub for engineering, product development and digital transformation initiatives within the global Schmersal Group network." Schmersal India Managing Director Ramji Singh said the company's decision to relocate to the larger facility in Pune reflects its growth ambitions and reinforces its commitment to delivering "world-class safety solutions." Newly launched "Make in India" products include a safety field box port extender, a magnetic switch, a fork sensor, a new safety limit switch series, an overspeed governor limit switch and a multi-level parking control system.
