Shinichiro Akiba, corporate senior vice president of Toshiba Corp., visited Toshiba Elevator Middle East (TELME) in Dubai as part of his business outreach program on December 16-17, 2019. The two-day program was an opportunity for TELME to showcase its potential, as well as ongoing landmark construction projects and events in the U.A.E., particularly in Dubai.

Organized by TELME, The Business Interaction Meet was held at the Hyatt Regency Dubai and attended by TELME’s regional partners. Addressing the delegates, Akiba shared information about Toshiba’s activities, developments and elevator business in the Middle East and Africa region.

Representatives and officials from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Azerbaijan and others participated in the event. They engaged in one-on-one sessions with Akiba to strategize, form business plans and share views on the market and their business ventures. They discussed how various synergies are implemented with the technological support and guidance of Toshiba Japan.

Akiba also visited TELME headquarters in Deira, Dubai, and interacted with management and executives. He stressed the importance of safety, quality and advanced engineering in doing business. Akiba was extended a warm welcome by your author (TELME managing director) and his team. He then visited the prestigious DAMAC Paramount Tower Hotel & Residences (ELEVATOR WORLD, January 2017), where Toshiba installed 36 high-speed elevators. Akiba enjoyed a tour of the project, observing their various features, operational finesse and machine room. He said he appreciated the installation, quality and maintenance teams, and congratulated them on a job well done. In closing comments, he advised the teams to continually focus on maintaining customer satisfaction and achieving innovation in all facets of their work.
